About Voyager Charters
Voyager Charters is a family owned and operated business located in the Cronulla area of Sydney and has been operating
continuously since 19??
Our Dive Vessel
Voyager is one of the largest purpose built dive boats in Sydney, with a total length of 38ft and a beam of 12ft. The
large size of Voyager and being a stable Cat Hull allows us to carry a total of 16 divers and all their gear onboard
without everyone stepping on each others toes.
With a cruising speed of 20 knots, Voyager has the advantage of having ample speed to get to the various dive sites,
and back without taking all day to do so. This allows us to run up to three dive charters a day with the same boat
without rushing the divers.
To enhance the diving and overall convenience with diving from Voyager, we also have alarge covered front cabin with
plenty of storage for all your dry gear, an enclosed rear area to protect divers from the elements as well as a galley
and a shower with the all important head (toilet).
Voyager was repowered in 2003 and now uses twin 225 hp four stroke engines which means no more nasty fumes and loud
outboard noise common with other boats so you can fully enjoy your day on the water.
Our Location
We are located in the Cronulla area of southern Sydney near the beautiful Cronulla beach. We are located only 35
minutes from the centre of Sydney and are also serviced by train. The train station is only a few minutes walk from
Voyagers main pickup location at Gunnamatta Bay. Fast, limited stop trains run every 30 minutes or so from the city.
The climate is summer 8 months of the year with our winter being warmer than many European summers. The area is a
sporting paradise with activities ranging from Diving, Surfing, Swimming in our patrolled beaches, Fishing, Golf,
Mountain Bike riding and Horse riding just to name a few.
Diving in Cronulla
Diving in Cronulla is beautiful, diverse and challenging. We have magnificent sponge gardens, ship wrecks and a
sensational array of underwater life.
Being a temperate climate, the water is warm (15ºc in winter and 23ºc in the summer months) and generally clear
and unpolluted thanks to the offshore currents that bring the clean water in from the deeper areas. Depth ranges
anywhere from 10 metres to over 40 metres with some wreck dives being much deeper. We have sites catering to all
levels of experience.
Because we are bounded by Botany Bay to the north and the Port Hacking in the south, we have safe and protected diving
in all but the worst weather conditions. Our dive vessel mainly departs from the public wharf at Gunnamatta Bay,
only a couple of minutes from Cronulla or nearby Botany Bay for a couple of our charters including the Grey Nurse
Shark dives off Maroubra.
Entertainment
There are many social spots at Cronulla including an array of fine Restaurants, Bars and Clubs, Night Clubs, Bands and
Cinemas. One of the largest shopping complexes in the southern hemisphere is right on our doorstep at Miranda, just a
short distance from Cronulla.
